I have enjoyed reading this book so far, it is the 4th in a series and the best out of the previous four, over the break i read the first three and some other books in between.
The book is about a boy named Will, the apprentice of a Ranger (the rangers are a small group of highly trained warriors that can turn invisible and fight with bows) that has been taken captive by the Skandian tribe far north from his original homeland Arulen. He was taken captive with his friend Evalyn who turns out to be the King of Arulens daughter. He managed to escape to the mountains with the help of a Skanidian captain that took pity on them both. They were arranged to be taken to a recluse cabin in the northernmost areas of Skandia. During their stay there Will's master, Halt a senior member of the Ranger Corps goes looking for him and try to rescue him along with his best friend Horace who is an apprentice Knight. They reach the cabin in Skandia only to find that Evalyn has been captured by rouge Temujai, the most lethal and deadly soldiers ever know to that part of the world. The whole Temujai army is at the Skandian border and are ready to take on the Skandian Beserkers, and then the rest of the northern world.
